PROMISE PASTURES

I grew up with livestock on a family farm and always loved the country and animals.  As I got older and had a family, I lived in a neighborhood with a few dogs and was having fun in agility. 

It was in 2007 that I got my first herding breed, a Shetland sheepdog we named Daisy.  That led me to try herding.  Daisy had a little herding ability and I realized it was something that I liked, but working full time and a seven hour round trip didn't leave much time to pursue it.  After breeding a litter that resulted in a puppy that had tons of stock sense I became passionate about herding and learned all I could by going to lessons and seeking out herding clinics. 

In 2014 I finally convinced my husband that we should move to the country so I could get sheep, pursue my passion, and train more with my dog.  We purchased 12 acres and now have sheep, ducks and goats.  My puppy that had tons of stock sense, Kiely, won her HC in 2016, making her the first Shetland sheepdog AKC Grand Champion Triple Champion at five years old.  I also breed my shelties occasionally and my desire is to breed dogs with good structure, temperament, health tests and instinct to work stock.

I also have a working kelpie, Patriot, that I have trained.  I fell in love with this breed in 2011 when I attended my first Larry Painter clinic and saw how beautifully this breed works stock.  Patriot is a huge asset on the farm and she has attained her AHBA HTch and met all of the requirements of the AKC HC.  I work cattle with her also. All of my dogs help with the stock chores on our farm and make it much easier for me. I have another young kelpie that I am training. Stay tuned to my FB page to watch the progress.

• I have over 17 years stock experience and have trained different breeds (loose eye and eye) to advanced levels and championships on sheep, ducks and cattle.
